5/23/2012 Our last meeting of the semester will be BATSU GAME DAY!

We've reached the end of the semester. To kick off summer break we'll be watching the latest installment of Gaku No Tsukai's Batsu Games, a punishment game where regular comedian contestants are forced to endure a day without laughing or else they will be struck with a painful object. It's as hilarious as it sounds. See you there.

5/16/2012 MACROSS PLUS DAY!!

Missed the last few updates. My bad. The last few weeks have brought us Pre-Ghibli Miyazaki Day and Crap Day. This Wed we'll be watching my all time favorite anime series in its entirety, Macross Plus! This four episode OVA series marks a staple in the anime industry as being one of the first anime series to successfully blend CG with cel animation. ("successfully" being the key word.)

4/ 25/ 2012 80's Day!

That's right! Considered by many to be the golden age of anime we'll be selecting from a healthy dose of anime from the 1980's. I myself will be providing Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospeada. (The three series that made up Robotech) We will also have Dominion Tank Police as well a few others. See you tonight!

Gundam Day! 4/18/2012

First off a quick recap. Last week we had 70's day and selected a few titles from that era. The titles included Heidi: Girl of the Alps, Invincible Superman Zambot 3, Lupin III (Season 1), and Galaxy Express 999: The Movie. Good choices overall.

Our next meeting will be Gundam day. The entire schedule will consist of various Gundam series and possibly movies. Like the previous week, the schedule will be made during the club but it's looking like Mobile Suit Gundam 0079 and 08th MS Team are pretty much guaranteed to make an appearance.

Today I'm asking everyone to bring in a few titles for us to watch in the club. As long as it's not he tai (or Bayblade) anything goes! We'll watch as much of it as we can in the time that we have. See you there.

Schedule for 3/21/2012

To follow up on last week's schedule, we'll be watching Mamoru Oshii's classics, Patlabor: The Movie and Patlabor 2: The Movie. Both are considered two of his best films. Don't worry if you missed out on last weeks Patlabor marathon. Both films stand well enough on their own (I should know, I saw them both before ever seeing the series.) See you there.
